1.OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
The OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety qualification has been developed to enable learners to gain an understanding of health and safety practices within a working environment. The course gives you an insight into how to manage workplace issues and covers the areas you would encounter in a health and safety role.
The aims of this programme will allow learners to:
- Understand the different roles and responsibilities for health and safety in the working environment
Be aware of safety and welfare rules in the working environment
- Understand the role of safety management systems in organizations
- Be able to review health and safety procedures across an organization
- Be able to communicate effectively when contributing to the maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
The OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 3 mandatory units for a combined total of 34 credits, 340 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 220 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

2.OTHM Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
QUALIFICATION OBJECTIVES
The OTHM Level 6 qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are developed to provide learners who have, or are looking to develop into, a senior role in an organisation with responsibilities for managing health and safety policy and practice. The qualification gives learners the opportunity to advance their understanding of Occupational Health and Safety management. Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to understand the legal and regulatory background to occupational health and safety policy, to be able to assess policies, as well as to recommend and implement policy changes. Learners will develop knowledge and skills relevant to putting policy into practice, utilizing management systems, resources, risk and incident management, leadership, management and skills development.
QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
The Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 4 mandatory units for a combined total of 32 credits, 320 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 120 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

PROGRESSION
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual learners are eligible to progress to the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or gain direct entry into relevant master’s degree programmes.
Individuals who achieve the qualification will be eligible to apply for Certified level of membership CertIOSH. Those eligible for Certified membership can then undertake a period of Initial Professional Development which will require students to provide evidence of their practice skills in a skills development portfolio (IPD). At the end of this period there will be a professional review interview. After successful completion of this IPD process students will then be eligible for Chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
The Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of 3 years
3.OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
The Level 6 qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are developed to provide learners who have or are looking to develop into a senior role in an organization for managing health and safety policy and practice. Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to understand the legal and regulatory background to occupational health and safety policy, to be able to assess policies, as well as to recommend and implement policy changes. Learners will develop knowledge and skills relevant to putting policy into practice, utilizing management systems, resources, risk and incident management, leadership, management and skills development.
QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 7 mandatory units for a combined total of 60 credits, 600 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 220 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

Duration and delivery
The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centers only.
Progression
Individuals who achieve the diploma qualification will be eligible to apply for Graduate level of membership Grad IOSH.
After successful completion of Initial Professional Development (IPD)process students will then be eligible for Chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH)
4. OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management
QUALIFICATION OBJECTIVES
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is a qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals. It is aimed at learners who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day-to-day basis in an organization. They are likely to be managers looking to improve their knowledge and skills. The objective of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management qualification is to develop occupational health and safety management skills for managers who have the authority and personal attributes to translate organizational strategy into effective operational performance. This qualification reflects current practice in Occupational Health and Safety Management and allows learners to develop and expand their high-level understanding of occupational health and safety in the workplace. The programme addresses a wide range of multidisciplinary topics such as, health and safety management practice, health and safety management systems, strategic risk intervention, strategies to improve occupational wellbeing, and sustainability and ethics. The Advanced Research Methods unit will allow learners to develop a critical understanding of the philosophical, practical and ethical concepts of research within the context of a health and safety environment. The qualification will enable learners to become independent, self-directed learners with tools and motivation to continue learning, developing, and reflecting on practice throughout their careers

PROGRESSION
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management qualification enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their further study. As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), where appropriate learners are eligible to progress to Master’s topup at many universities in the UK and overseas with advanced standing.
